On January 20, 2018, the 13th Gold Round Table Forum for the Board of Directors of Chinese Listed Companies and the awarding ceremony of the Gold Round Table Award was held in Beijing. For two consecutive years, CHENGZHI has won the Award of Excellent Board of Directors. Chairman Long Dawei was awarded the first session of Entrepreneurship Award.

In his award-winning speech, Chairman Long said that all excellent boards of directors are similar. Specifically, they featurea strategic vision and great determination in decision-making, boast the capability to lead the staff to overcome difficulties and grasp critical opportunities, and strive for surprising success out of routine while seeking better basic governance. According to him, an excellent board of directors has the following characteristics: (1) standardize corporate governance and improve the internal control system; (2) adhere to innovation-driven development and optimize the industrial pattern; (3) create a culture for the board of directors and form a contingent of employees sharing the same values and making concerted efforts. The development of an enterprise depends on its staff and teamwork. An enterprise with a great team will be able to conquer all challenges and become successful. Mr. Long said, “As a school-runenterprise of Tsinghua University, CHENGZHI has undergone several significant transformations in the past two decades. Despite of numerous challenges in the journey, it has never given up.” He added that winning again the Award of Excellent Board of Directors represented recognition of CHENGZHI, and that the company would continue to develop into a world-class hi-tech industry group with the philosophy of “Dedication, Self-discipline and Social Commitment”.

Li Bing, Director of the Capital Operation and Yield Management Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and Peng Jianguo, Deputy Director of the Research Center of the commission, among others, attended the awarding ceremony and delivereda speech. Over 200 distinguished guests from more than 100 listed companies, governmental departments, the academic circle and presscircle were present.
Guided by China Association for Public Companies and sponsored by Directors & Boardsmagazine under Phoenix Publishing & Media Group,the Gold Round Table Award has been held successfully for thirteen times. It was created to set an excellent model of corporate governance, provide helpful reference for more enterprises and boost Chinese listed companies in terms of corporate governance.

In September 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Opinions of Creating an Environment for the Healthy Growth of Entrepreneurs, Carrying Forward the Spirit of Excellent Entrepreneurs and Giving Better Play to the Role of Entrepreneurs. To follow the call of the times, the Gold Round Table Award established the Entrepreneurship Award for the first time this year to reward the leaders of listed companies who have the entrepreneurial spirit. A total of nine entrepreneurs were awarded the honorary title.
